Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using our electricity vending services.

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Greendot Technology website and electricity vending platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our platform or services.

2. Description of Service

Greendot Technology operates an online utility vending platform that enables users in designated estates and grid networks to purchase prepaid electricity units/tokens. While we make every effort to maintain constant communication with the electricity distribution companies (DISCOs) and local providers, our service availability is subject to third-party network connectivity and grid uptime.

3. Meter Validation and Vending

When purchasing electricity tokens:

  • You are solely responsible for entering the correct meter number and selecting the correct estate or grid location.
  • Our platform automatically validates the meter number with the utility provider before generating a token.
  • Once a transaction is finalized and the utility token is successfully generated, it is bound to the validated meter number and cannot be transferred, reversed, or refunded.

4. Payment and Fees

All electricity purchases must be paid in full through our authorized payment processors. Service fees, convenience charges, or payment gateway fees may be calculated and added to the total transaction amount prior to final approval. By initiating a payment, you agree to pay the calculated total amount, including all applicable fees.

5. User Accounts

If you create an account on our platform, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.

6. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Greendot Technology, its directors, employees, or partners be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of power, electrical equipment failure, or transaction delays caused by third-party utility APIs or grid networks.

7. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Lagos, Nigeria.
